SCHOOLCHILDREN FROM MOSCOW AND ROSTOV-ON-DON SHOWED PERFORMANCES IN SPANISH AT DSTU
The national festival of school theatrical creativity in Spanish was held at DSTU. Young actors showed performances inspired by Spanish-speaking authors of the XX-XXI centuries musical and poetic compositions.
– This festival is the culmination of our work with Russian schools to promote the Spanish language. Don State Technical University and Regional Ministry of Education have made many efforts for this event. And this is one more confirmation that we made the right decision to sign a Memorandum of cooperation with DSTU. This is the only university in Russia we signed such a document with, – said Mr. Llanes Villanueva.
The festival was participated by theater groups from Rostov schools, DSTU gymnasium and Moscow educational institutions, which have bilingual Spanish departments.
On March, 16 - 17, Moscow actors showed performances in Spanish based on the works of famous authors – Pablo Neruda, Miguel Mihura, Carlos Arniches and others.
– The festival is held at a high level, – said DSTU rector Besarion Meskhi. – I am sure that the joint event with the Embassy will serve as a foundation for our further cooperation and contribute to involve students in Spanish language study.
The festival was organized by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain in the Russian Federation, the Ministry for General and Professional Education of the Rostov region and Don State Technical University.
A day before the festival Besarion Meskhi and Mr. Llanes Villanueva met and discussed future cooperation and shared their views on the event.
Spanish bilingual education project is implemented by educational institutions of Moscow, Rostov-on-Don (program coordinator – DSTU) and Kazan (program coordinator – KFU). The project provides an opportunity to get Russian secondary school diploma and Spanish diploma Bachillerato.
