DSTU student set the world record in kettlebell lifting
Sergey Balabanov, DSTU Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering student, won in two categories at the world kettlebell lifting competition in Kazakhstan.

The competition was held in Aktobe, Kazakhstan, on Octber, 26-30.

The event has involved participation of more than 400 sportsmen from 39 countries. It was the first time when representatives from Australia, South Africa and India took part in the competition.

Sergey is the absolute leader in “long cycle push” for the second time in 95 kilos category as a member of the Russian national team.

This year Sergey has set again the world record: 85 lifts of 2 kettlebells 32 kilos each during 10 minutes.

Kazakhstan sportsman has taken the second place, and the Ukrainian one took the third place.

Another gold medal was awarded to the Russian national team and it became the second Sergey’s gold medal.
