DSTU ENGINEERS CONDUCTED TEST OF AUTO CONTROL UNMANNED COMBINE
On May 24th DSTU researchers of the youth scientific laboratory “Intellectual electrical agricultural machines and complexes” in cooperation with representatives of “Rostselmash” conducted the test of the automatic control system of the RSM 161 combine.
With the help of a specialized high quality robotic tachometer, DSTU engineers established the accuracy of positioning and the given trajectory moving. The obtained information will help to improve automatic control of agricultural equipment.
For the mined data verification, the tachometer was adjusted and certified, the team was taught how to use the device.
“The main issue of automatic control setting is bringing calculated coordinates and trajectories to real ones, and minimizing errors when comparing them,” said Evgeny Garanin, head of the DSTU Robotics Resource Center. The RSM 161 combine was moving according to the system data. The tachometer monitored its movement and compiled an electronic map with local and geographical coordinates.
The testing was hold as part of the implementation of two federal programs - "Science and Universities" - the program of Scientific Educational Center of the South of Russia on the technological project "Creation of unmanned vehicles of the 4th level of autonomy" and the program "Advanced Engineering Schools" - the Institute for Advanced Mechanical Engineering "Rostselmash."
