STUDENTS FROM THE UK AND RUSSIA STARTED TO DEVELOP JOINT ARCHITECTURAL PROJECTS AT DSTU
On August 21, 2018, the XI International Student Summer Scientific-research School "Sustainable regional development: renewable energy and green technologies" was opened at DSTU.
This year the summer school participants are students of DSTU, Platov South-Russian State Polytechnic University (NPI) and educational institutions fr om the UK (The University of the West of Scotland, Glasgow Kelvin College), Northern Ireland (Southwestern College). During the three-week program, students will elaborate the project for DSTU building reconstruction using the latest information modeling, energy saving, renewable energy sources technologies for achieving stable building functioning.
- The project format of the seminar enables students to exchange best practices and develop teamwork and professional competences. Students love summer schools and come with pleasure. It is very important that students from different countries become friends for life, – said Lisa Clark, Director of Corporate Services of Glasgow Kelvin College.
- The summer school is a reason to talk about the prospects of urban development in Rostov region, to tell and show important architectural objects. Also it is an opportunity to share experience: participants will be able to offer their ideas for the use of modern construction technologies, ways to create and improve environmental protection facilities and much more, – said Alexey Polyanskiy, Chief architect of the Rostov region.
The school-seminar will last till September, 9. During the school-seminar, participants will visit the Institute of Urban Planning under the Rostov Region administration, four large construction sites wh ere meetings with construction companies representatives will be held. Students will also attend introductory practical classes, including Russian language lessons.
