The organizers of the forum are the EU grant winners from the chairs "World Languages and Cultures" and "Pedagogical Measurements" at Don State Technical University, Rostov-on-Don, Russia.

The aim of the event coordinated by World Languages and Cultures Chair was the formation of tolerance through the comprehension of European culture values and the study of European languages, which serves as a unifying factor for the global space of the modern world. The objectives of the project were to arouse students' interest in understanding the values advanced by the European Union, to generate scientific and public discussions of current issues, and to reflect upon the contemporary phenomena of European integration through the prism of language and culture.

At 10.00 am in the framework of the scientific and practical conference "Global European Space: Problems of Integration through the Prism of Intercultural Communication", master classes on the study of European languages began. The master classes brought together schoolchildren and university students alike. The young people got a unique opportunity to enjoy French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Spanish in practice. In addition to the above mentioned European languages, the Korean language master class was represented by the Korean Language Education and Culture Centre which is the partner of World Languages and Cultures Chair.

The master classes were conducted by native speakers. The moderators of the master classes were Jean-Pierre Rene Lenotre, President of the Association of the Friends of the French Language Rambouillet (the French language master class); Sarai Burgos, teacher of DSTU (the Spanish language master class); Donega Lorenzo, teacher of DSTU (the Italian language master class); João Carlos Mendonso-João, Lecturer at the Camões Institute Center for Portuguese Language and Culture, teacher of the Portuguese language at MGIMO University and Moscow State University (the Portuguese language master class); the representatives of the DSTU German Language and Culture Center (the German language master class); Bek Du Son, Lecturer of the Korean Language Education and Culture Centre (the Korean language master class).

In the master classes young participants had a chance to catch a glimpse of the native speakers’ cultures, learning some simple everyday phrases, and playing interactive role games. Most participants expressed a desire to learn one of European languages in the future.

Simultaneously with the master classes a workshop "Ensuring the quality of education in the context of the integration of European and Russian education systems" was held. Its target audience was teachers of secondary schools and higher educational institutions. The workshop was moderated by N.F. Efremova, Head of Pedagogical Measurements Department. The speakers discussed the issues on evaluating learning outcomes, the introduction of the GEF (FGOS) into comprehensive educational practice, and the interaction of secondary schools with Don State Technical University.

At 2:30 pm an educational workshop "Russian education in the international educational market: the presentation of educational activities of the university in the European format" was also offered to teachers. A spirited discussion was prompted by the report of S.V. Shvedova, Deputy Rector for DSTU International Activities, an expert of the European Commission on the promotion of higher education reforms in the context of the Bologna process. The report was dedicated to the internationalization of education and the implementation of the Bologna process tools in the higher education system of the Russian Federation.

The urgent problem of diversification and the optimization of professional mobility in the context of global changes in the labor and technologies market was raised by I.M. Mayevskaya, Head of the International Education Service, DSTU. The experience of educational interaction was shared by N.F.
