DSTU WILL ALLOCATE A QUOTA FOR THE PREPARATION OF PHD CANDIDATES AND DOCTORS OF SCIENCES FOR UZBEKISTAN CITIZENS
Besarion Meskhi, DSTU rector, announced his readiness to allocate a quota in postgraduate study and doctoral studies for students from Uzbekistan at a meeting with the delegation of the Central Asian Republic, headed by its Consul General in Rostov-on-Don, the Southern Federal District and the North Caucasus Federal District Burkhan Alikulov. Jointly with Uzbek partners, DSTU proposes to create educational programs in the field of media communications.
The participants discussed new areas of mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of education, science and international relations.
“We are ready to allocate a quota for the preparation of PhD candidates and doctors of sciences for Uzbekistan citizens studying at DSTU. The defense of dissertations will take place on the territory of our university. Today we have 9 Dissertation Councils, by the end of this year another one will appear”, said Besarion Meskhi, rector of DSTU.
Between DSTU and twenty-three educational, science, research and business organizations, 39 agreements and cooperation agreements have been signed, 11 joint educational programs have been developed. This year, DSTU enrolled 50 citizens of Uzbekistan, and the total number of Uzbek citizens who study at DSTU is 142 people.
“We are determined to fulfill our obligations regarding all jointly implemented areas of cooperation with your university”, stressed Burkhan Alikulov.
Since 2018, DSTU and Uzbekistan have been holding numerous joint official events, international projects are being implemented in the educational, cultural and educational spheres, including the Russian-Uzbek educational forum "New Personnel for the New Economy" with the participation of heads of state (2018, Tashkent), Interregional Conference of Rectors of Russian and Uzbekistan Universities (May 2021, Bukhara), Russian-Uzbek Media forum (November 2021).
“DSTU pays close attention to the preparation of foreign students. We are making great efforts to make it comfortable for students from Uzbekistan to live and study with us", commented Aleksey Beskopylnyy, Vice-Rector of DSTU for Academic and International Affairs.
Since 2021, a representative office of the Don State Technical University has been opened based on the International University of Tourism "Silk Road" and a representative office of the International University of Tourism "Silk Road" in DSTU. Since November 2019, the Digital School project has been implemented based on the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan and DSTU.
“We have all necessary facilities for conducting online certification testing of teachers of Uzbek universities for the Russian language proficiency. We are ready to start training teachers of the Russian language for universities in Uzbekistan”, summed up Alina Vinitskaya, the head of the international partnership development department of the DSTU. “We also propose to create new joint degree programs in the field of media communications based on the Faculty of Media Communications and Multimedia Technologies of the DSTU”.
