DSTU STUDENTS DEVELOPED TRAFFIC SCHEME FOR THE MAIN STREET OF BERN
Students of the DSTU Department "Organization of transportation and road traffic" developed a traffic scheme on one of the main streets of Bern in the framework of the international workshop dedicated to transport problems solving.
The 13-th international student school-seminar on solving transport problems for specialists of the road transport complex and students of specialized areas finished in Switzerland. Professors and students from the University of Wuppertal (Wuppertal, Germany), Bern University of Applied Sciences (Switzerland), Stellenbosch University (South Africa) and Don State Technical University became the participants of the summer school.
During the week students have been developing a project for the reconstruction and change of the central Bern street – Seftigenstrasse - traffic scheme under the guidance of mentors. The task for the summer school participants was provided by the city administration. To solve the tasks, students went to the object, analyzed the traffic and offered their options for traffic optimization.
The student teams’ projects were presented at the public defense in the presence of transport planning and modeling experts.
Last year the summer school-seminar was held in Rostov-on-Don. The participants were engaged in forecasting the transport situation and developing streets and roads network based on the Rostov airport territory renovation modeling.
