DSTU REPRESENTATIVES TOOK PART IN FINAL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN LATVIA
The final international conference “European Dimension in Qualifications for the Tourist Sector” for EurDiQ project in the framework of the European Commission Erasmus+ program took place on 26th-27th February 2019 at Baltic International Academy, Latvia.
The participants of the conference were representatives of the following partner counties: Latvia, Great Britain, Cyprus, Germany, Kirgizstan, and Russia. The DSTU working group, which consisted of director of the Taganrog Polytechnic Institute, DSTU branch, A. Isaev, head of the planning and financial management department O. Ananova, head of the international projects and programs department E. Chernysheva, PhD associate professor of the “Service, Tourism and Hospitality Industry” department I. Borisenko, specialist of the Center for International Studies and Tuning L. Isaeva, presented the implementation results of the EurDiQ project achieved at the flagship HEI. In the framework of the final conference S.A. Buka, Chairman of Baltic International Academy Senate, and E.A. Gorbashko, vice-rector for Scientific Research of Saint Petersburg State University of Economics, gave the welcome speech.
The head of the International Center for Research and Project Management of St. Petersburg State University of Economics Elena Vasilyevna and the Head of the “Hotel and Restaurant Service, Tourism and Leisure Organization” department of Baltic International Academy Marina Gunare delivered a presentation on the dissemination of the project and implementation of its results, as well as on methods of implementation of professional standards in educational programs.
EurDiQ project is being carried out for three years in the framework of the European Commission Erasmus+ program. During this time, professiograms for workers in the tourism industry were created for partner HEIs from Russia and Kirgizstan in compliance with advanced standards of international education and within the framework of qualifications and professional standards, taking into account the competencies and results of education; created interdisciplinary approaches and technologies in creation of the educational programs and IT-accompaniment of the educational process; organized internship for DSTU students in the field of “Tourism” to Baltic International Academy, Latvia. Moreover, in cooperation with universities of partner countries (Baltic International Academy, London Metropolitan University, University of Nicosia, University of Applied Sciences, Bishkek Academy of Finance and Economics, Issyk-Kul State University, Russian State University of Tourism and Service, Saint Petersburg State University, Sochi State University, Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation) network Master’s program “Strategy and leadership in tourism” was created using the MOODLE platform and DSTU server in the field of “Tourism.” “Legal framework and security technologies in tourism” module was put together by “Service, tourism and hospitality industry” department of Institute of Service and Business (Branch) DSTU in Shakhty.
