DSTU EXPANDS PARTNERSHIP WITH UZBEK UNIVERSITIES
On December 4, 2019, rector of Don State Technical University Besarion Meskhi met a delegation from Uzbekistan, which included universities rectors, business community representatives, authorities and diplomatic missions of the Republic.
Advanced areas of cooperation were agreed by the parties: development of joint study programmes, conducting research projects, retraining, professional development, business incubator creation, spin-off companies, training in dual training system, participation in sports and cultural events and many others.
– I am sure that our cooperation will be interesting and useful for both countries, - said DSTU rector Besarion Meskhi and made his proposals. In particular, he invited Uzbekistan universities to work within the Southern Scientific and Educational Center. Mechanical engineering and agriculture were identified as priorities for such a partnership. The rector also initiated holding of joint events, such as media expedition.
Besarion Meskhi told about international activity of the university: DSTU and Uzbek universities have already implemented joint projects.
– We are interested in strengthening cooperation with Don State Technical University, - said Head of the Uzbek delegation, first Deputy head of the main Department of coordination of higher educational institutions of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic Madamin Aripdjanov.
The meeting was also attended by first Deputy Chairman of JSC "UzAgroTechPromHolding" Umidjan Salimov. He suggested to create a branch at enterprise or a school that could prepare the necessary specialists for the industry.
