As part of the working meeting, the delegation presented a unique collection of books on the Chinese language, culture and special subjects in Chinese to the DSTU Scientific and Technical Library. DSTU Rector Besarion Meskhi noted that the books will be an important contribution to the learning process of the students studying Chinese at DSTU.
“One of the important areas of our cooperation is the development of library resources exchange in the languages of our countries. We are now working on a technology that will provide online access to the electronic library systems for students teaching,” Besarion Meskhi said.
Professor Chen Sunyang, rector of Shandong Jiantong University, was awarded the title "Honorary Doctor of DSTU" for his great contribution to international cooperation and training of qualified personnel.
“It is a great honour and responsibility for me to accept the title “Honorary Doctor of DSTU”. This is a high recognition of both my work to develop cooperation between our universities, and the work of a large team fulfilling the most ambitious tasks,” said Chen Sunyang. “I am sure that the fruitful cooperation between our universities will further strengthen friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of our countries.”
The honorary Recognition Award was presented to Liu Chunguang, graduate of the Don State Technical University, Director of Don SJU-DSTU Institute for International Education. The awards were also given to graduates of the flagship university who have achieved the most significant social, political and professional success in various fields of activity.
“I believe this is a reward for our large Russian-Chinese team. In 2019, at the beginning of our cooperation, I gave my promise to DSTU Administration that the number of students coming to study from SJU would steadily increase over the years, and we have achieved that result," said Liu Chunguang.
