DSTU AND PARTNERS FROM EUROPE, CHINA AND RUSSIA DISCUSSED SPIN-OFF COMPANIES
On April 29-30, 2019, the international seminar-meeting "European models of spin-off companies and technology transfer establishment" based on the Bologna club was held at DSTU.
Representatives of partner universities from Spain, Portugal, China and Russia attended the event. Also the high-tech zone of Yantai (China) staff arrived to DSTU. The meetings were held in various formats: round tables, reports, discussions, lectures.
– The topic of spin-off companies is important for the university community. It is a great opportunity for students and professors to make their project alive, transforming it to a prototype first, and then – to a real product, – said Head of International Education Services Irina Maevskaya. – Don State Technical University is known for supporting the ideas of scientists and young researchers, creating conditions for the startups development.
April 29, 2019, together with the main participants, DSTU students and staff were invited to the lecture delivered by Professor of the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (Portugal), member of the scientific Council of the research center CERNAS Rui Manuel Machado da Costa and Manager of science and technology of the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra Jorge Manuel Vieira Moreira. They talked about European models of spin-off companies and technology transfer.
The seminar-meeting is held within the framework of the project "University-Enterprise Cooperation via Spin-Off Companies Network" (UNISON) of the European Commission Erasmus+ programme. The UNISON project aims to facilitate the implementation of the Bologna process by strengthening cooperation between university and enterprise through the creation of a spin-off companies network based on European best practices.
