On March 19, 2020, on the eve of the spring festival of Navruz, the Consul of the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Rostov-on-Don Rustam Kurganbayev, met with Uzbek students studying at DSTU.
Legal support for foreign students in Russia during the pandemic were discussed.

– Due to the pandemic, the Republic of Uzbekistan has been providing one-time financial assistance to its citizens since last year. Those citizens who have not yet received such a payment can apply to the consulate to write an application, –said Rustam Kurganbayev. – Since August 2020, foreign students are allowed to work in their free time. For employment, it is enough to take a certificate of study at a university.

The issue of developing partnership relations between DSTU and Uzbek universities was also discussed. So, since 2019, DSTU has been implementing joint study programmes with the Tashkent State Technical University, Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute and Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry.

Especially for foreign students, the university launches study courses that allow students to get a second specialty.

– Since the 2020/2021 academic year, the university has launched two study courses for foreign students. The first one lasts 7 months, it is aimed at training interpreters from the Russian language. The second course year, which lasts 18 months, entitles students to teach Russian at homeland, –said Svetlana Shvedova, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of DSTU.

DSTU notes that all foreign students can be vaccinated with the Sputnik-V vaccine on the campus, for this you need to contact the International Students Support Department.
