DSTU WON COMPETITION OF THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION TO ESTABLISH ADVANCED ENGINEERING SCHOOL IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ROSTSELMASH COMPANY
DSTU and Rostselmash will create a new structural department at the university - the Institute of Advanced Mechanical Engineering "Agrotech", within this structure the Advanced Engineering School will be developed. The unique target landmark of DSTU project is an idea of training not only individual specialists, but engineering teams aimed at solving complex technological issues. 30 advanced engineering schools will be established in the Russian Federation. The grant for the implementation of the national project is 1 billion 177 million rubles, co-financing - 277.5 million rubles.
On June 30, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation announced the results of the grant competition, projects defenses of which took place on June 18. DSTU Administration together with Rostselmash partners and representatives of the authorities of the Rostov region successfully defended the project of creating the Advanced Engineering School.
Integration of high-tech production competencies and scientific base of the university will enable to form a new generation of engineers, who will be able to solve the most difficult technical tasks. Among these tasks are the development of a single modular scalable platform for combine harvesters, the development of a line of tractors and the creation of road construction equipment, says Valery Maltsev, CEO of Rostselmash. In the framework of cooperation with DSTU, Rostselmash will provide students and academic staff with effective internships, participations in various projects at their industrial areas. So the specialists will acquire necessary practical skills and become in demand in the profession even before graduation.
Realization of the Advanced Engineering School will confirm the position of Rostov region as a center of attraction for highly qualified specialists from all over Russia, and it will also ensure a significant increase in its scientific and technological potential.
Don State Technical University will establish the Advanced Engineering School in cooperation with Rostselmash, the group of companies that provides about 80% of agricultural machinery market of the Russian Federation, said DSTU rector Besarion Meskhi. Such initiative is relevant in the current condition when foreign manufacturers of agricultural machinery leave the Russian market.
According to DSTU rector, it is planned to create a separate scientific structure based at DSTU for training engineers and academic staff in all educational levels, and to realize research projects aimed at solving the strategic tasks of domestic agricultural engineering.
