– In the modern world, science and education play an increasingly important role in the long-term socio-economic development of the country and region, as well as in strengthening national security. The ICOBM-2021 conference, organized by Don State Technical University in cooperation with Rutgers State University of New Jersey, USA, will not only bring the problem of studying microbes to the international level and highlight the research of scientists in this field, but also attract young scientists to this topic, - said DSTU rector Besarion Meskhi. – Today, a huge number of microbe strains are used in agriculture and aquaculture, the food industry, medicine and many other industries. ICOBM-2021 will be an important step towards the development of scientific research in this area, as well as a platform for discussions of young and experienced scientists, to strengthen ties between partners from different countries.

The conference is divided into three main sections:

- Humans probiotics. Research aimed at studying the positive effects of probiotics on human health;

- Animal probiotics. Results of studies on the effect of probiotics on animal health;

- Probiotics biotechnology. Preparation of probiotics for mass production.

Presentations in the sections of Experimental probiotics and Probiotics biotechnology will take place on June 3, 2021. Following the results of ICOBM-2021, articles indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases will be published.

ICOBM-2021 is held within the framework of the megagrant of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation "Research of veterinary probiotic drugs aimed at modulating animal health".
