WORLD-RENOWNED EXPERTS DELIVERED LECTURE FOR DSTU STUDENTS IN ONLINE ZOO ZIMS
On April 7, 2020, Alexander Kantorovich, regional coordinator of Species360 in Eastern Europe, curator of the High Park zoo collection (Israel), offered DSTU Department "Bioengineering and Veterinary Medicine" students to solve cases on the basics of working with wild and zoo animals in online zoo ZIMS.
Don State Technical University is the first university in Russia that received a license to conduct classes in ZIMS. Students learned about the online platform database, learned how to work with ZIMS information, and also solved cases on zoo management online.
Also students took part in an online tour of the Southern Bird Park Malinki and got acquainted with the unique collection of zoo inhabitants.
It is planned that an online module will be launched in the next academic year. There veterinary students will study subject "Scientific research in zoos" using the ZIMS program.
