On October, 15, 2017, participants of the WFYS visited DSTU. Guests from 50 countries planted 26 saplings, stated in the Red Book, in the "Friendship Alley" of DSTU Students Park.
– We are pleased to become a part of the XIX World Festival of Youth and Students. Friendship Alley, planted in our Park, shows the unity of youth around the world, the community of values and aims, –– said Besarion Meskhi, DSTU Rector.
Guests expressed hope that all planted saplings will remind about the festival, becoming a symbol of people unity.
– Now I know that I made mark here. I will remember Rostov and Festival, this tree symbolizes my friendship with people from Russia and other countries, – said Natukunda Charlotte, participant from Uganda.
DSTU guests learned about traditions and customs of the Rostov region. In addition, visitors were able to pass "Ready for Labor and Defense" examination and participate in Latin dancing master class. Specially for guests of the University three educational thematic sections were organized: "World Culture. Common traditions", "Economy and entrepreneurship", "Journalism and Media".
On October, 16 - 17, 2017, the participants of WFYS visited tourist attractions and historic landmarks of Rostov-on-Don, Novocherkassk, Taganrog and village of Starocherkassk.
The forum brought together young professionals aged 18 - 35 years from more than 180 countries.
