DSTU STUDENTS TRAINED STUDIED SOCIAL INCLUSION PROGRAM IN GEORGIA
On October 3 - 5, 2018, Ureki (Georgia) hosted the international festival of inclusive practices "Overcoming borders". The event was organized by AAIP Inclusive Practices with the support of the global network International Association for Community Development.
The festival was attended by government and public organizations representatives from different countries dealing with the social inclusion of children with disabilities, as well as students from various Russian universities.
An internship on social inclusion programs was organized for universities students. The initiator and organizer of the trip became DSTU Inclusive Education Department and Department "Social work".
The trainees took part in master classes in various areas of social inclusion (game therapy, art therapy, creative activities, inclusive sports, family active social role), in trainings on stress management in working with special needs children, and also in the conference "Development of inclusive communities".
"The best inclusive practices 2018" competition was held within the framework of the festival. DSTU team became a finalist in the nomination "Author's project". Students presented the project "Organization of an inclusive volunteer group".
