10 Aims
The discipline aims to train students in the basic laws of development and functioning of living matter of various levels of organization.

11 Competences to be developed:

Generic:
- oral presentation, communication skills;
- teamwork;
- analytical skills,
- ability to formulate problems,
- ability to effectively search for, find, systemize and analyze data,
- collaborative and leadership skills.
Specific:
- ability and readiness to evaluate morphofunctional, physiological conditions and pathological processes in the animal organism for professional problems solving

12 Learning outcomes  

Upon successful completion of the discipline students will be able to:

• know and analyze:
- basic concepts and laws of biology and ecology in relation to living systems and the profile of training;
- physiology of animal basic systems;
- biological needs and capabilities of animal organism;
- the main types of pathology and prevention measures for pathology elimination;
- ecological principles of rational nature management.
• apply knowledge of fundamental biological regularities for making optimal decisions in professional activities;
• correctly explain processes occurring in the animal body from the point of view of general biology and environmental science;
• rationally use biological features of animals;
• operate biological nomenclature and terminology;
• independently study new areas of fundamental sciences, using the achieved knowledge.
