      2.Aim of the programme

    2.1 Media communication program is a complex media education that allows you to work both directly in the media and use media tools for any professional activity.
    The main objectives of the program are:
    - to form the competence of the graduate in the information space, project management, creation and promotion of media content;
    - develop thinking for generating new ideas and technological solutions in the field of multimedia;
    - develop the potential for producing potential projects for producing complex projects;
    - give all the conditions for the development of creative thinking, leadership skills, the ability to work in a team;
    - to stimulate the creation of own start-ups in existing media markets, as well as the creation of new media markets.

    3.Characteristics of the programme

    3.1.Main disciplines/modules
    The program consists of 4 key sections, none of which is dominant:

    1. Classical humanities education (Russian language, literature, history, philosophy, sociology, political science, jurisprudence, as well as theoretical block of professional disciplines - the fundamentals of communication theory, theory and history of journalism, foreign language).
    2. Visualization, audio and text: Visualization: photography, video, design and layout of magazines, websites, mobile applications, electronic publications for iPad and Android, infographics and work in professional photographic studio on top equipment. And you will also learn how to work with studio light, a video camera, conduct TV broadcasts, create special effects, work in Adobe Photoshop CC, Lightroom, Illustrator, InDesign, Muse, Dreamweaver, PremierPro, AfterEffects.
    Audio is a quality sound, working in programs like Adobe Audition, Sony Sound Forge, Reaper. Try yourself in the role of the radio host: create author programs, go live, conduct podcasts, and all this you will do on the urban radio station Rostov FM on the frequency 89.4FM.
    Text: practical experience in writing texts of different genres and for different platforms (classic journalistic texts, long reeds, generation of text content for social networks and social media).
    3. Production and project management:
    - the ability to plan and achieve results,
    - manage the creative team,
    - to find resources for the development of the project,
    - Create and optimize the project budget.
    4. Promotion of content and creation of media business - media marketing and marketing in social media (SMM), business modeling and business planning, analytics and statistics.

    4.1 Job opportunities

    A graduate of the program "Production of digital content" will become a popular specialist in various labor markets:
    1. Media: journalist, editor, producer, PR and advertising specialist.
    2. Media production: design and imposition of visual products, video editing and video shooting, photography, creation of websites (designers), recording and processing of sound, 2D and 3D modeling.
    3. Work in the press services and services of visual communications in public authorities, commercial enterprises.
    4. Creating your own media business.

    4.2 Further studies
    Further studies can be in the master's degree of the department in the direction of 42.04.05 - "Media Communications", where all the conditions for writing scientific work - the master's thesis are created. Also, the department provides the opportunity to study in the magistracy in the direction of 38.04.02 "Management" and master's programs: "Media Management" and "Marketing in social media.

      5. Programme learning outcomes
    As a result of training you will learn to work professionally in the media sphere, which includes:
    - Take photos, video, layout, edit, create effects, record and process sound;
    - write texts in different genres, create scripts, prepare materials for media events, be able to professionally compile project descriptions, prepare text documents;
    - To promote media content on the Internet: SMM, direct advertising platforms, drafting of a media plan;
    - Managing media production, editing, producing complex media projects, creating your own media business.

      6.Education style (Teaching, learning, assessment) 

    6.1.Learning and teaching approaches  

    All the training on the program is practical-oriented. From the first year students join the project work: they analyze markets, identify consumers needs and create their media projects. This type of training is built on generating challenges and finding ways to overcome them (Challenge based learning). This makes it possible to maximize the educational process to the real life, to form the necessary social competencies for further professional self-realization (ability to work in a team, set goals and find opportunities for their implementation, self-organization (time management, planning), readiness to work in the force majeure mode). 

      The faculty has all the opportunities for professional and personal development: 2 video studios, 2 radio studios, photo studio, coworking for start-up teams, interactive laboratories, 3 computer classes for 45 computers with all necessary computer software for design, graphics, video production, 2D and 3D modeling, sound.

      6.2. Assessment methods  
    All the results of the work of students are evaluated through the public pitching of projects. The jury includes teachers of the faculty, heads of media companies, top managers of the press services of large enterprises.
